‘The Good Wife’ season 6 spoilers: Carrie Preston back as Elsbeth once again
This is news that you most likely had to file in “things you saw coming a mile away”: Carrie Preston is returning to “The Good Wife.” She won an Emmy in the role of Elsbeth, and she also has some more time in her schedule now that “True Blood” is ending after seven seasons.
While some details about her return to the show are still not confirmed, CBS has at least made it clear that she will in fact be back for the sixth season in some important storyline. Hopefully, it’ll be something that lasts for at least a little while.
We know already that Preston loves playing the Elsbeth character, and there must also be a personal benefit to it in that it allows her to be in the same city as her husband Michael Emerson (who stars on “Person of Interest“). Given that he previously spent a long time in Hawaii filming “Lost,” it’s not like these two over the years have had a ton of opportunities to hang out in the same place together.
“The Good Wife” is one of the most notorious shows on TV for getting great guest actors and actresses, and so far Taye Diggs is probably one of the most high-profile additions. Given that this is “The Good Wife” we are talking about here, and that production on the sixth season is still in the early going, you have to imagine that there are probably still some very significant roles to be cast down the pipe. We’ll just have to be patient and wait to see what happens there.
Are you glad to see Carrie returning, and would you be down to actually see a spin-off starring Elsbeth? (Just throwing that out there.) Share in the comments, and click here in the event that you want to get further news and updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
