‘Longmire’ season 3, episode 8 review: Did Katee Sackhoff’s Vic expose Branch?
Tonight on “Longmire,” we had a continuation of all sorts of crazy things that happened when it comes to everyone from Walt to Vic to of course Branch. we also continued our trend of great performances from Katee Sackhoff for the second straight week.
If you see something, say something. It’s a cheesy saying that many people are told in grade-school, but it definitely applied in the end for the big decision that Vic made this week to finally expose Branch to Walt as someone completely unsafe to have a badge. This has been building for a couple of episodes now, but his actions, whether it be with Native Americans in the desert or with people back within the town, have shown him to be so thirsty for vengeance that he’s lost his mind in many ways.
To make matters worse, Vic is also continuing to deal with a husband who is less than supportive right now about her career choice … and we totally get it. We’re shocked that he didn’t just pack up and leave after what happened with the kidnapping. Fighting crime is a worthy and wonderfully noble job, but it’s certainly not for everyone or every spouse.
There was also a story-of-the-week more or less this time, but a different one than anything that the show has presented as of late. There wasn’t really a happy ending, with Walt calling the investigation open and calling it a day. The whole “insurance” case isn’t really our favorite, mostly because it has been done on other shows … even if not this one.
Overall, we would say that “Harvest” tonight was not as powerful as what preceded it last week, but that is not to say that it was terrible. There were great moments and performances, but we feel more like tonight was laying the foundation for what should be a crazy final two episodes of the season. Grade: B-.

I do not want the relationship because the uniqueness of Longmire is lost; this is not a show with a long-running soap opera theme. We do not need it. I would rather have Vic struggle to keep her marriage together while maintaining her position. More on the office assistant, more cases to resolve with a little more depth than the “insurance” case, and less on personal lives is good.

A relationgship does not make a show a Soap Opera…

I agree. I will stop watching if they try and put Walt and Vic together. Just like I’ve dropped the books.

Longmire needs more cases “solved the WY way”; relationship between Longmire and Vic not welcomed; Branch is going too far out and becoming a “dirty cop”; clean Branch up.

Because if I wanted to see a relationship show I’d be watching Grey’s Anatomy. The allure of this show would just be destroyed.
