’24’ season 10: Fox open to more Kiefer Sutherland adventures
In the event that you have been desperately hoping to have more of “24” in the future, we come bearing at least some reasonably good news right now: Fox is open to making more of it.
While we wait for Dana Walden and Gary Newman to take their jobs as the new programming heads for the network, Fox Networks Group Chairman and CEO Peter Rice took the stage at the TCA Summer Press Tour today, and bragged extensively about how proud he was of “24: Live Another Day”:
“I loved this year’s season of 24. I’ve always been a fan. We haven’t had a specific conversation about it coming back yet, but I’m sure we will in the future. It’s a wonderful franchise. When you look at the show itself, it has many more stories to tell [and] I think we need to sit down and talk to the creators.”
For now, all of this sounds hopeful and not just in the typical fan-service way that you typically see at events like this. We expect the show to at least be in discussions for another season. We’ve never felt like Fox is going to be what holds it back in the event that it does not return for more; instead, we’ve always speculated that the real reason we may not see more of “24” is simply because Kiefer Sutherland and the producers may want to move forward and do other things. Can you really blame them? They have taken on this phenomenon for a long time, and they may be deciding now that they want to try some other things.
Or, the team may just take their time to come up with a great story, and then give “24” at least one more run. That’s what we are hoping for.

I disagree. If and when the final season comes, Jack will never be the kind of man who sits home and retires. He will always be the courageous man who must fight for what he believes and for the people he cares about. There will always be another cause for him to pursue.

Evan and Manny said they would like to see 24 back in Los Angeles. So they are evidently up for writing more, and since Fox is up for it then really Kiefer just needs to come out and say “I wanna do one more, but this is the final one”. The talent’s contracts must be up soon so better announce it at Comic-Con or not much later.

I want as much “24” as Kiefer and the producers are willing to give us. I hope that’s a lot more. If, however they know that a season will be the last one, PLEASE give us a happy ending for Jack. Just once guys. He deserves it.

I for one would be perfectly happy with just one more season like this one was, 12 episodes, or even a one or two hour movie. But only if they give it a proper ending. No cliffhangers. Preferably with Jack getting home safe and sound, alive, finally being able to just stay home and be with his family. Not really Jack-like, but that’s what I want.
