’24: Live Another Day’: Mary Lynn Rajskub, Yvonne Strahovski on season 10 trajectories
We are sitting here a few days removed now from the end of “24: Live Another Day,” but we find ourselves in around the same exact sort of emotional position that we were right when the show ended: Namely, we want to get as much “24” as humanly possible, and we have a very hard time at the moment accepting the possibility that Jack Bauer getting on the helicopter is the last thing that we are going to see on the show.
What is interesting is that, based on what we’re hearing now, there was at one point a much more definitive ending, possibly even beyond just those rumors of Jack Bauer dying (which was at least discussed by the writers), than something that could lead into a possible season 10. Mary Lynn Rajskub and Yvonne Strahovski appeared on “Extra” this week, and while this was conducted prior to the finale airing, it is still interesting and of note for them to discuss how there were a variety of different endings to the show, including some that would have made it clear that this was for sure the end of the run.
Now, we are feeling pretty confident that there may still be a little bit of life left in this franchise, after all. As we’ve said a number of times, Fox will probably be good to keep “24” around so long as the ratings are not terrible, and there is at least some sort of demand out there for it. For the time being, that definitely exists. Also, we want to continue to see both Kate Morgan and Chloe O’Brian as a part of it.
Are you still excited, hopeful, or some combination of the two for the future of the series? Let us know below, and to get some other timely updates on all we cover at CarterMatt, sign up now for our official newsletter.

JB is right. jack has to be broke out or fight his way out of prison and then be reunited with his family because you only done 12 episode, why not do 24episodes

They can’t leave Jack in a Russian prison….. Real fans of the show MUST agree that Jack is to do ” IT” at least one more time—– the only ending I will accept is Jack reunited with his family…. He has done enough for us… I can’t accept the current status as an ending… AND we all know that Almeida needs to return… And a little Aaron Pierce wouldn’t hurt lol

I think Jack will be reunited with his family for season 10, but at the end he sacrifices himself to keep them alive.
