‘Game of Thrones’ season 5: Sophie Turner adapts, but in a different way than Sansa

Sansa -We have a feeling that for many casual “Game of Thrones” fans out there, season 4 may have been when they started to come around to the idea of Sansa Stark as something other than a potentially-terrible character. They started to realize that there is a genuine amount of depth there, and that there are also many interesting stories to be told that you may not see entirely on the surface.

Sansa’s journey basically led to her sporting the outfit attached to this article, a sign of her growth and change as a character. She’s gone from being naive and somewhat snobby to being a chameleon who understands social dynamics and what it means to survive in this world.

For Sophie Turner, her own transition from child actor to popular TV star has seen plenty of its own changes, but she has tried hard to not let it affect her personality too much. She recently did a photo spread in Nylon Singapore, and speaking to the magazine (per Winter Is Coming), she explained some of what it was like for her to work at an early age versus now:

“It was very strange when I first started, but now it’s very familiar to me and I feel most at home on a film set. My first day filming ever was with Sean Bean, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey, and a ton of these great actors doing this big scene. It was so daunting with all the cameras around, and I didn’t realize that people would get you what you wanted – I’d ask ‘please may I go and get a bottle of water,’ and they’d go, ‘No, I’ll get it for you,’ and that was very strange. It’s normal now – but I still get my own bottles of water!”

We imagine that season 5 will be just as interesting for Sansa as everything beforehand, and perhaps her best season ever given that she is starting to have a real voice. She may not use it often, but knowing when it is most valuable is perhaps the most important.

Filming for season 5 starts this summer, and you’re going to be able to find even more news pertaining to it over at the link here. Also, you can sign up if you want to grab some more scoop on all we cover now via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
