NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: Which character is officially returning?
Remember that cliffhanger at the end of “Hannibal” season 2 where it looked like so many different people were dead? Well based on the information we know now, Alana Bloom is now the only regular with even a chance of not making it through that episode alive.
While at the TCA Summer Press Tour panel for his new comedy “Black-ish” on Tuesday, Laurence Fishburne confirmed that he is going to be heading back to Bryan Fuller’s world in order to play Jack Crawford yet again. The twist this time around? He won’t be a major component of every episode as he’s been in the past:
“I’m not going to do a full season of ‘Hannibal’ this year, and I’m not going to do a full season of ‘Black-ish,’ which will keep me free enough [in order] to have fun and to contribute as best I can … It’s not a problem. It works out just fine.”
We cannot imagine that this is going to be an enormous challenge for Fuller to orchestrate, if for no other reason than that with Hannibal on the run now with Bidelia, you could have Will Graham chasing after him with Jack trying to still run things back at the BAU. That allows for him to pop in and out of the story, and let Will handle the majority of the action on the ground. It’s a nice little twist to continue to allow Fishburne to do both projects. We were mostly worried about this thanks to the fact that “Hannibal” films in Toronto, so it’s not going to be that easy to do frequent flights from there out to California to work on his other show.
