‘Chicago Fire’ season 3 spoilers: Prepare for death of a major character

When “Chicago Fire” premieres its third season on NBC, one thing that you can definitely expect is one of the biggest shocks that the show has delivered on to date. Namely, there will be at least one major character who does not make it through the early going.

Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, showrunner Matt Olmstead announces what is definitely some very-ominous news when it comes to that explosion that we saw in the season 2 finale: Someone is going to die, and it will impact the rest of the show greatly. Check out more below:

“Not everybody makes it out of that building, and then certainly what people deal with in terms of the loss of whomever that character is, that’s definitely what we’re dealing with in the first episode and beyond.”

Ultimately, this is something that we are going to have to prepare for as the reality of this show from beginning to end. We are dealing with a program that features firefighters as all of the main characters, so we therefore cannot be too stunned by the fact that not everybody is going to make it through. With almost every episode comes the possibility of death. While we don’t think that the series would kill an entire cast off at once, losing characters here and there, as we are going to at the start of the third season, is not out of the realm of possibility.

Whoever it is, let’s just hope that they get the proper send-off they deserve, and not just be pushed aside from an emotional angle a couple of weeks in.

Who do you think is the most-likely to die in the premiere? Let us know your theories below.
