‘Teen Wolf’ season 4, episode 4 review: Stiles helps Malia; Liam is unleashed

Teen Wolf -Tonight’s episode of “Teen Wolf” was entitled “The Benefactor,” and we know in our heart that this is director more at the Big Bad of the season. However, we at the same time we feel like the real benefactor is just as much Stiles here as anyone.

Let’s take a look here at what he did for Malia tonight; he was her anchor through her transformation, and trusted her enough that she would not attack her to the point where he unlocked her from her chains, only to have her rushing into his arms in the very end. While we weren’t all for this couple at first, they are improving and growing on us with every passing episode.

While all of this was going on, though, there was literally all sorts of chaos happening around them. Scott had to take on new responsibility with Liam’s transformation, and that was a difficult thing for him to accept. Rather than trying to just be what he thought a leader should be, he instead opted to just be himself and speak to the guy that way.

Meanwhile, back at Lydia’s lake house she tried to throw a massive party in order to distract everyone from what was going on around her … and that started to work until the voices came. This is the episode where we finally started to know and understand more about what they are up against … and it includes a deadpool (no, not the superhero) that is a full list of supernatural creatures in Beacon Hills.

This was not an episode of “Teen Wolf” that really resolved much of anything, but for giving us such up-close-and-personal stories of the characters, we enjoyed it. Hopefully, this will translate to us caring more about what lies down the road. Grade: B.
