’24’ season 10 renewal: Could Kiefer Sutherland, Yvonne Strahovski, show return?
Tonight marks the official end of “24” season 9, which has been more formally referred to as “24: Live Another Day.” Thanks to the long delay between this season and the past one, it has probably been pretty easy to forget about the fact that this series has been on the air a long time.
But is there a chance for more down the pipeline? After this great season, we know that the demand from the diehard fans is there, and we’re sure that the writers would love the chance to tell another great Bauer story. Unfortunately, there are also still a number of other issues to think about.
- Kiefer Sutherland – The man is almost 48 years old, and we therefore have to wonder whether or not kicking butt and taking names really has the same appeal that it once does. This is long, exhausting work, even if you do get paid handsomely for it.
- Fox – The ratings have been okay for the summer, but far from phenomenal. When you factor in the budget, it’s understandable to be worried about cost getting in the way here.
- The supporting cast – Could you get Yvonne Strahovski back? We feel like that you need at least two out of the three including her, Kim Raver, and Mary Lynn Rajskub if you want to tell another compelling story. We’d personally prefer all three if we could, since they all serve different purposes. (Update: Obviously, and sadly, Raver is no longer available after tonight’s finale.)
The one reason above all else that we give “24” a shot at coming back is because it’s viable summer entertainment. 12 episodes is not as exhausting or as expensive as 24, and it’s not like Fox has done that well with any of its other shows this summer. These episodes are also binge-watching gold, and they can pull in even more profits on the backend.

WOW! What an incredible half season. Kiefer is still Jack Bauer. This season had it all, incredible action, extremely fast paced stories, plot twist that just kept twisting, huge fist pumping moments and unfortunately heart-wrenching sadness. I cannot wait for season 10. Can we get a full 24 episodes this time please. You absolutely cannot leave it here. Jack does not deserve to be abandoned in Russia. Jack Bauer for President!!!!!!!!!

Have loved 24 forever & other Kiefer Sutherland movies. Let him have a rest for awhile, then of course we want another series. Even 12 would be ok. and while I am sure the action is very difficult & physically demanding, he is not old!!

I don’t necessarily want another full season, or even a half season like this was. I’d be perfectly happy with a 1 or 2 hour movie to wrap it up, i.e., Jack gets home, alive, safe and sound, thanks to Kate, Belchek, Chloe, and heck, even Tony could pop up. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it’s Jack Bauer.

My DVD library will hold anything 24! Just love the show. My oldest son said to me one day;” Mom, this show called 24 is the best out there. I know you will love it. Watch back seasons on Netflix and text me anytime with anything you need help in understanding. When I am home for break you and I will watch 24 all day everyday until you catch up!” Boy was he right! Entertainment at its best! I would hate and be very sad to not see a season 10.! Hey! How about seasons all the way to 24? Now that would be the bomb!

Bet on this: Chloe, Belcheck and Kate will risk all in Ghost Protocol-like operation to get Jack out of Russia. Chloe because she owes (and maybe loves) him. Kate because Jack believed in her. Belcheck… he just wants to deliver the perfect FU to Moscow. We’ll see if I’m right come Summer 2016!

This was my first time watching the “24” series, I’m sorry I missed the first 9 seasons, I am not a fan of violence, but this show was gripping being for the greater good. I am a devoted fan from here on out, please consider another sequel.
