‘The Last Ship’ episode 5 preview: ‘El Toro,’ and a trip to the jungle

Where is the story going to go from here on “The Last Ship“? Clearly, this show likes to really touch on every corner of the world. We’ve seen the crew in the Arctic, and we’re going to be seeing Chandler and company next week within the jungles of Nicaragua.

The episode for this particular installment is “El Toro,” and if you want to know some more about what you can expect, we have an easy way for you to do so: Just take a look at the official synopsis below:

“A mission to help Rachel with her vaccine trials leads Chandler and a small team into the jungles of Nicaragua, where they tangle with a former drug kingpin who will stop at nothing to maintain his power over his oppressed society.”

To us, this sounds pretty fantastic for a number of reasons, starting with the fact that you have the introduction of another new group of people, which further proves that there are many pockets of people out there. What we hope for is that the show spends enough time to really dwell on all of these people for their stories to be effective in the end. We know that there are only ten episodes a season, but we still don’t entirely feel like there is some big, urgent need to rush through everything at warp speed. Also, getting to know the people around him only further accentuates Chandler’s humanity, and makes him far more effective both a leader and a character.
