‘True Blood’ season 7, episode 4 preview: Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin, and a deadly tale

Anytime that you have a “True Blood” episode entitled “Death Is Not the End,” there is one appropriate reaction to it: “Oh no.” Could someone else be leaving the show? With this being the final season, producers no longer have to feel that pressure to keep beloved characters around. They can kill at any given moment, and nobody is altogether safe. After all, we seemingly just lost Alcide tonight, unless the show comes in and pulls off some miracle. Update: This title may have been changed to “Sick of Goodbyes.” We’re seeing both online now, but either are appropriate given the story these days.

This list certainly includes Eric Northman. We already know that Alexander Skarsgard’s character is infected, and that is going to make him a little bit nostalgic. This could also be true for Sam Merlotte, who has almost the entire town of Bon Temps after him now following the reveal that he is a shifter.

For some more details, including flashbacks to a great story for Eric and Pam, take a look at the HBO synopsis below:

In the aftermath of yet another bloodbath, Sam (Sam Trammell), Sookie and Jason find themselves the bearers of bad news in Bon Temps and beyond. Pam recalls the events that led her and Eric to Shreveport and Fangtasia. Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) get nourishment from unexpected sources. Following a new lead, Sookie enlists a band of vampires and humans to track down the H-Vamps.”

Based on this, we would put Bill and Jessica at the top of the “in danger” list. We feel a little bit better about Eric’s survival chances for now, but only just because the show spent all summer long trying to convince us that he might be dead. Why do that, only for him to die a few weeks later?

What do you think is going to come up on “True Blood” next week? Sound off now in the comments.
