‘NCIS’ season 12: Premiere speculation, hopes, and a Pauley Perrette quote
Can you believe that we are almost at the start of “NCIS” season 12 production? This has been an extremely quiet summer for the show; or, maybe it is just an ordinary summer that feels like something much more after all of the headlines around this time next year.
Regardless, filming will be starting up in a mere matter of days now rather than weeks, and there a couple of things to watch out for when it comes to the premiere episode in particular.
- A heavy role for Gary Glasberg – The showrunner has been the main writer of every premiere since season 8, so we have no reason to believe that this changes now unless there is someone else’s work he really wants to highlight.
- The beginning of a new long-term story – Since there was no enormous cliffhanger at the end of season 11, this marks a chance to kick off something new, like a new villain or a case that will span the entire season.
You’ve probably heard the same regurgitated headlines time and time again about being able to meet Bishop’s husband and one of Gibbs’ exes at some point in season 12, but we’d be surprised if they are in the premiere. This is a story more for November or February sweeps with a well-known guest star attached.
As for a non-sequitur to close things off here for now, we bring to you this funny quote from Pauley Perrette’s chat with BuzzFeed about what she would change about her character:
“Don’t wear your ponytails too tight! And always make sure to take the time to go to church and bowl with your nuns!”
We’re hoping for a big Abby storyline in season 12, possibly one that brings in either more of her past, or a new friend or love interest for her to spend some time with. She had some great moments near the end of the season, but we’d love to see more of them.

I will comment to you then Julie – because are we to just accept the dreadful storylines coming our way now WITHOUT one word of how bad it is – 3 million people are thinking the same as me and 5 people here agree with me. Did that answer you satisfactorily Julie ?

I think season 12 will better. They had a lot to cover in season 11 and it wasn’t as good as it could’ve it should’ve been but season 12 will be infinitely better now that they’ve had a summer without Any conflict to resolve. I suggest watching the premier, if you don’t enjoy it, that’s your own opinion and I completely respect that!

Thank you for a blog without all the BS about maybe Cote coming back etc. Nice to read something interesting.
I love Pauley as she is a genuine angel because she feels deeply for others and gives her time and money to help both people and animals.
She makes this show what it is as do all the actors.
