‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: More on Josh Murray, Andi Dorfman’s hometown date

Bachelorette -While we suppose that every season of “The Bachelorette” has a hometown date that is worthy of some attention, the one taking place between Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray on Monday night is especially interesting to us. After all, he has been a frontrunner for Andi since the very beginning, but there have always been a problem or two that have kept him away from being a sure-fire lock to win her heart at the end.

So with the hometown date, the biggest note of conflict may just be Josh’s brother and the aura of stardom that is around him. You see this teased in the promo at this link, and we’re not altogether surprised by it. Families in the south worship football, and we cannot be too shocked how they would feel about one of their own starting a professional career. However, this may not work well with Andi as she tries to figure out if the family is really supportive of her.

Check out the portion of the ABC synopsis all about this part of the story below:

“Andi heads south to Tampa to visit Josh’s family. They enjoy a flirtatious afternoon playing baseball at his childhood field that was filled with future championship dreams. However, Andi learns that underneath that confidence Josh seems to exude, is pain from unfulfilled dreams. After five years of struggling, Josh quit professional sports to devote more time to his family – and in particular his younger brother, who now has been drafted into the NFL. Although she is touched by his commitment to his brother, Andi is concerned that he might not make the time necessary to make a relationship his number one priority. That anxiety deepens when she meets his family who is clearly dedicated to the pro football career of Josh’s brother. Where does Andi fit into this family picture and Josh’s life?”

In a way, this makes us feel somewhat bad for Josh, given that he worked so hard to make his dream a reality, only to see his brother achieve one instead. You can feel pride and also a little envy at the same time, and we wonder if this is what is going on here.
