‘America’s Got Talent’: Why is there no new episode? Blame NBC, ‘Rising Star’

Tonight was originally going to be an all-new episode of “America’s Got Talent,” and one that was going to feature some great auditions that took the show in the right direction.

Unfortunately, NBC wasted no time in making us want to boo at the TV over tonight being a repeat. This was not accurately advertised, and for many casual viewers, they tuned in tonight expecting an all-new episode to air. This is ultimately a case of the network really yanking us around for no good reason, except to try to bury a show in “Rising Star” that was so terrible, NBC did not need to do anything to bury it. Instead, they moved Tuesday’s new episode to this past Sunday, gave us a repeat tonight, and messed things up just to create a rivalry where there really was not one.

So in the end, NBC went through a lot of trouble for nothing, and probably angered fans who were hoping to watch tonight’s new episode with there not being a lot of other options on for them. There will be a new episode airing in the typical timeslot next week, and maybe they can make up for tonight’s sad-face-look then.
