‘Orphan Black’ season 3 spoilers: Show boss on Mark shocker

Orphan BlackWhile we may still be waiting to know whether or not “Orphan Black” will be back for a third season, the one thing we can say is that the writers and producers are certainly planning on it. You do not creator a shocker like we had in the season finale unless you feel pretty passionate about the show getting a chance to continue.

So now that we know that Mark is at the center of Project Castor, what does this mean? It will take a while for this to be fully revealed. What we can at least do a little bit of here is address why Ari Millen was chosen to be the man with multiple roles coming up. Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Graeme Manson explained specifically why this was a good idea to take the show back to the start:

“We really looked at all the permutations. The truth is is that Ari Millen really impressed us with the work he did with Mark’s character. He can be really creepy, and yet, he can show this heart. So we began to countenance that idea. And it really does something that we really like in that the end folds back to the beginning, so that Sarah’s facing down not the same person, but the same face, the face across the table at the beginning.”

It was also made clear in this interview that Millen had no knowledge upon being cast that this was coming, and as far as we can assume, Mark does not know he is a clone … at least for now. It may be better off if that remains a secret to him, given that the clone that was locked up at the end did not appear particularly nice.
