‘Arrow’ season 3: Stephen Amell joins us in the Harley Quinn revolution

Harley Quinn -There were many moments throughout “Arrow” season 2 that had fans riled up (our Twitter timeline exploded the moment that Oliver said “I love you” to Felicity before everyone realized it was a trick), but it comes to reaction proportional to actual screen time, nothing beat that Harley Quinn cameo in “Suicide Squad.” From the moment you saw the back of her head in the promo, insanity started to spread that was only amplified when you heard Tara Strong’s voice on the actual show.

So where does this leave the character’s future now? We have only campaigned time and time again for there to be more from Harley on the show, whether it be in podcast form or something else. However, we’ve always wondered if this is a fruitless campaign given that with “Gotham” starting on Fox, the higher-ups at DC Comics may want to reserve most Batman-related characters for that show.

Personally, we don’t see what there cannot be two separate canons, just as we are assuming that there is a DC movie canon and a TV canon right now unless the films decide that they want to cast “Arrow” actors for an upcoming movie. Stephen Amell seems to agree, judging from what he said about his hopes for Harley in the future in a Facebook chat with fans:

It was absolutely Harley Quinn. Hope she is back – AND OUT OF HER CELL – in Season 3.”

Now what we wonder is how they would do this character if they did ever bring her back. After all, you had Cassidy Alexa provide the physical presence of Harley, and then Strong the voice. We’re sure that producers would figure it out one way or the other … let’s just hope for Harley first and foremost.
