ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7: Nathan Fillion, Molly Quinn, and a fun exchange

Castle -Yesterday, we were handed some pretty surprising news about the future of “Castle,” as creator / showrunner Andrew W. Marlowe decided to step down from his primary duties. So after speculating over something as serious as what this could mean for the show, we are pleased to move on now to what we believe to be a little more of a pleasant topic: Father’s Day wishes.

A couple of days ago when the holiday was here, Molly Quinn made the super-fun move of wishing a good one to her onscreen father Nathan Fillion, writing on Twitter the following:

Happy Father’s Day! Ur the best TV dad and mentor ever Love u Nate”

As a response to that, Fillion wrote the following on his own page Monday:

I got a Father’s Day message from @MollyQuinn93. Strangely, I’m alright with that.”

In the end, we recognize and acknowledge that the majority of this inconsequential, and really does not provide you any more news on the show or the seventh season (though we believe all parties will be back for it). What this is mostly proof of is just that the actors on the show are just as aware of the “TV dad” phenomenon as anyone else. There are countless articles about great TV parental figures written throughout Mother’s Day and Father’s Day every year, and right now Fillion’s Richard Castle is one that is traditionally on many lists. While he is not perfect, he clearly cares for Alexis and wants to see her happy. Now that the Pi situation is over (really one of the only bad situations that has ever had to do with a word that sounds like “pie”), we’ll get a chance to see what happens from here on out.
