‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Marquel Martin, J.J. O’Brien, Andi Dorfman, and mimes
You’ve seen the teasers over the past few days of the men on “The Bachelorette” being forced to dress up like mimes, and prepare for what is probably going to be one of the cheesiest group dates that the show has ever done. How can someone feel romantic when they are trapped inside of an invisible box? Maybe this is what leads to there being so much drama in the first place Monday night.
Marquel Martin is someone in particular who is highlighted for being involved in some of the fighting Monday, but it doesn’t necessarily sound like he is the instigator. Meanwhile, J.J. O’Brien could actually have a moment in the sun away from a one-on-one date, and prove that there is more here than just a guy who refers to himself openly as a “pantsapreneur.” Take a look at what ABC had to say about all of this in their most-recent synopsis from this episode:
“‘No talking aloud’ is the rule of the day when Andi takes nine men to a professional mime for him to coach them on his silent art. Then, the bachelors test their skills with the French public. What will they think of these Marcel Marceau wanna-bes? As usual, the guys try their best – except for one man who has an attitude problem. At the after party, one arrogant bachelor is confronted about his overly-confident bragging that he is “frontrunner,” and Marquel calls out another man who he believes has made some reprehensible comments about him. J J steals Andi away from the drama for a fun romantic ride on a Ferris wheel overlooking the city’s glittering lights. But will all the tension make Andi change her mind about handing out a rose?”
Here are a few little observations about all of this.
- We imagine the French people being very annoyed about an influx of mimes in the city, especially when mimes are such a generalization of French culture in the first place.
- The “arrogant bachelor” seems to be Nick, who hasn’t exactly been someone to hold his emotions back throughout the season.
- Based on some past previews for the episode, Andrew seems to be the guy that Marquel gets into a dispute with, but we’ll just have to see if that turns out to be the case.
