‘Halt and Catch Fire’ episode 3 preview: Gordon and the line of fire

The dynamic of “Halt and Catch Fire” is certainly an interesting one, given that you have a company whose future at this very moment hinges on a man they barely know, and a trick that led to him getting the power and the resources to take all of them on a very wild ride.

This has created a ripple effect on others, which leads to the likes of firings, people being repositioned elsewhere, and other things in order to ensure that the business does no go completely under. Also, there is tension between those who want to side with this new man Joe, and those who continue to treat him as an outsider.

This is where the tension comes for Gordon in the sneak peek below from Sunday night’s new episode. He is clearly struggling with how to speak with fellow employees, even when it comes to doing something as rough as trying to fire one of them. The saddest part of all this is that it is going to get so much more before it gets better, and that cannot be good news for the preservation of his already-fragile marriage.

We do have to close this with somewhat of a pet peeve that AMC has started to do with many of their videos: Why in the world are they giving you a short sneak peek, and then some sort of menu that lasts just as long with the video? If people want to watch more of the stuff that you are offering them, we don’t feel like you really need to make it this obvious for them.
