‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 6: Can you put the ‘Ian Somerhalder is leaving’ talk to rest?

Can we finally say for sure that there is good news when it comes to Ian Somerhalder and “The Vampire Diaries” moving forward? We suppose that in the end, much of it is going to depend on the definition of good news.

According to a new report from TVLine, we are going to be seeing Somerhalder for sure on the upcoming season. Maybe this will cool the jets of those freaking out over Ian putting on Instagram a picture of a grave, suggestion that Damon Salvatore was going to be truly dead and not coming back. Then again, we don’t actually think that it is going to make too much of a difference at all, since these people will probably just believe anything that is on social media.

The larger question for Damon is going to be where he is more so than what exactly he is actually doing. There are a number of cool theories that can come up as a result of this here. Maybe there is a new dimension that he and Bonnie are going to that we have no been introduced to yet, or maybe there is a chance that he is popping right back into Mystic Falls, but with a new set of consequences.

As for when you may finally start to get some answers about all of this, we’re thinking along the lines of early October. That is when “The Vampire Diaries” is mostly to resume shooting its new season.
