‘Fargo’ episode 8 preview: First look at Martin Freeman in ‘The Heap’

As “Fargo” has progressed through this first season, there has been little doubt in our mind that the show has found a way to consistently raise the stakes, but have enough comedy mixed in with the drama that you don’t quite always notice it.

In the end, we have to admit that this show has become the biggest surprise of the year. There were reasons to be afraid of it being a disaster in the early going, thanks to the source material that you are following up. However, it has been anything but throughout as we have seen Lester (Martin Freeman) continually find a way to sneak and weasel his way through almost everything starting with the murder of his wife.

“The Heap” is the name of the episode airing next week, and in previewing that we start with the official short synopsis:

Molly faces pressure to close the case, while Lester starts to feel like a new man.”

There’s not a whole lot to go on there, right? Well, this is one of those shows where finding out too much would be a serious detriment to you, since it would ruin almost all of the fun and the sense of wonderment that this show provides. There are still three episodes left, and that is plenty of time for things to change and evolve. While we want to see justice served for some of these people (preferably by Molly, one of the few people who actually has a clue), we also want to see the thrill of the chase dragged on as long as possible.
