‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 16: What we’d like to see from Mariska Hargitay, cast now
On Wednesday night, “Law & Order: SVU” is going to come to a close on NBC after one of its most-intense seasons to date. There was tragedy that befall Agent Olivia Benson courtesy of the William Lewis saga, but in the end, there was also a glimmer of hope for her.
Are we going to see something dramatic happen Wednesday night with the finale? Possibly, and we hope that this does involve her deciding to adopt. After 15 years, we feel like there is groundwork and then some for Mariska Hargitay’s character to be a mom, and seeing how she adopts this new role could be very interesting to watch. After all, there is the whole dilemma of whether or not you scale back your duties on the force out of fear that something that could happen to you. This is a pretty common trope in the vast majority of crime dramas out there.
Granted, there is still another little issue that needs to be taken care of in Benson confirming her return to the show, but we feel like this is most likely going to happen. We haven’t heard anything to the contrary, unless of course the show is planning to really stun everyone during the episode Wednesday.
As for Nick Amaro, let’s sum up our season 16 wish for him like this: That he manages to get out of his current situation with the arrest. We love the depth that the character had this season, but an entire season of him separated from the SVU is not something that we necessarily want to see.
