‘Dancing with the Stars’ 18: Mark Ballas, Candace Cameron Bure perform despite injury
If there is one thing that you can say right now about Mark Ballas, it is that the guy is a real trooper. Despite suffering an injury during a “Dancing with the Stars” rehearsal that was described as “serious,” he still went out on the ballroom floor Monday night to perform a very intense quickstep.
Usually when you see a segment about an injury raising this much concern, it is with one of the celebrities, and not one of the pros save for what happened to Derek Hough on a recent season. But Mark’s situation was a truly scary one, and if he was not able to go on the show tonight, another dancer would have had to perform with Candace Cameron Bure in her place. The interesting this about this is that for most of the season, it has been Candace who has went through the much more emotional journey.
Overall, the two performed a very good dance despite all of the struggles that they went through during the week. there were a few little bumps here and there with the shoulders, but they were those of Candace that received the criticism. there was some work in this dance that caused Mark (who claimed he was okay and was cleared by a doctor beforehand) to use his shoulders heavily, he made it through. At least he didn’t have to do any substantial lifts in here, which is something that he was doing at the time when he hurt it in the first place.
