‘Ink Master’ season 4 finale review: Sausage, Matti Hixson, Scott Marshall face off, who won?

Ink MasterYou’ve been waiting all season for this and now it’s finally here! The “Ink Master” season 4 finale! Tonight Scott Marshall, Sausage and Matti Hixson will battle it out for the title of “Ink Master” and it’s going to be an interesting fight.

We have three very strong tattoo artists and tonight is their final task. They each have 35 hours to work with their open canvas and create a dynamic back piece that will wow the judges.

Before we get to who won “Ink Master” season 4, we have to touch on one of the big highlights from the finale. Kyle Dunbar returns! Everyone wanted to hear what Kyle had to say to Chris after some time has passed and he did not disappoint. He called Chris out (in a much calmer tone then previously) on being bias and Chris stood by his original stance, which was that by pushing Kyle he was helping him get better. One of the things we love about Kyle is the fact that he’s not afraid to be honest and up front with the judges. We wish we could’ve heard more, but he was cut off due to the time crunch of the finale.

Now for the part you’ve all been waiting for: Who won “Ink Master” season 4? After seeing all three of the back pieces, Matti was eliminated, placing 3rd in the competition. America voted Sausage into the finale, and the judges voted in Scott. Both Scott and Sausage’s pieces were very similar and absolutely gorgeous, but in a surprise to no one Scott won the title of “Ink Master”. It seemed that color saturation was the determining factor between the two pieces, but it’s hard to tell with these judges since they’ve really been all over the board with their critiques this season.

The finale was thrilling and we not only saw some great back pieces, but we also learned some very cool and exciting information about “Ink Master” season 5 that includes Joshua Hibbard and Jason Clay Dunn from season 3 making a surprising return. Episode grade: A
