‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: Is 18-episode order confirmed?

Even though the Fox upfront presentation took place today, there really was not that much of a “Sleepy Hollow” presence. One of the reasons for that is probably just the simple fact that the network had other pressing matters to attend to, which included trying to promote most of their freshman shows that need the ratings.

However, we do have some news today that is certainly still welcome and appreciated: The upcoming second season will be comprised of 18 episodes, at least per network head Kevin Reilly’s recent Q&A with reporters per Give Me My Remote. The good thing that obviously comes from this is that it is more episodes of an awesome show. That means more stories to get invested in, and chances for things to get a little bit crazy.

The obvious downside now of such an order? That there is virtually no way that this entire run will happen consecutively. More than likely, there will have to be a way that the season is split up, and we personally would vote for having nine episodes in the fall (preferably before baseball), and then nine episodes air from January until March. That way, there is no wonky scheduling that confuses everyone.

While this may not be an issue to the actors or writers on the show, we do find it a little confusing how Fox has made this big point of emphasizing shorter seasons as of late, only to then give this show five extra episodes in season 2. It feels more like what they are saying is “we’ll give fewer episodes to shows with lower ratings, but a ton still to everyone else.”
