‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3 finale debate: Should Zoe and Wade get together now, or later?

For “Hart of Dixie,” fans, we understand that there were many moments of frustration throughout the entire season as the status of Zoe and Wade was up in the air. For us, it wasn’t so much about whether or not these two characters should get together as it was the nature of the relationships that they were in. Nobody seriously believed that Zoe and Joel and Vivian Wilkes and Wade were going to go the distance, and it felt more like we were buying time.

So now that the two are both single, we come to the time when you ask to ask: Should they go ahead and get together again? Teasers for the finale suggest that things will lean in this direction, as Zoe, afraid of the thought of Wade leaving, will let him know how she really feels. The problem is whether or not it is too late … the problem that almost every show with romantic tendencies raises at one point or another.

The case for getting “Zade” together – If season 4 is the final season for the show (and we feel like it will be, given that it will have everything that it needs potentially for syndication at that point), this gives you a season for the two characters to build towards a happily ever after. You can have drama while still keeping the characters together, and that could be interesting.

The case for keeping “Zade” apart – You up the drama in the fourth season, just in case you are afraid that being together won’t be as exciting over time. However, you also run the risk of tricking fans who have seen teasers suggesting that Zoe would be confessing her feelings.

At this point, we’re firmly in the “get Zade together” camp, that way to put them on the track to where the finale next season is something that really gives you a sense that they could be together forever. There’s also not anything holding them back now; even the book on Zoe and George has seemingly been closed.
