‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 23 preview: The hunt for predators goes online

Law & Order: SVU logoOn Wednesday night’s new episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” the show will be utilizing technology in order to stop predators. The sneak peek below is pretty uncomfortable to watch, and in many ways we feel almost as uncomfortable about it as the young woman who is posing as a 14-year old in Thailand trying to convince predators to stay online and flirt with her.

There is not too much in this peek that actually relates back to a larger story or any of the characters, save for Donal Logue’s character announcing that one of the parties involved in the internet exchange in Manhattan should be picked up. This was the plan to always draw criminals out, and in this way, the plan was a success.

In the long-term, what we are mostly interested in here is how episodes like this one will carry over into the finale airing next week, and what the plan for the show as a whole is. After all, you have to remember here that the season ended production well before the renewal news was announced, and thanks to this, we would be surprised if there was a cliffhanger ending that was anywhere near as insane as what we saw on the show last time. At that point, the major question marks were around star Mariska Hargitay more so than the show. She is expected to return next season, though there are still some details to be hammered out and no official announcement has been made just yet. (NBC’s upfront presentation is tomorrow.)
