‘Arrow’ season 2: What the renewal for ‘The Flash’ means long-term

When you first found out the news that “The Flash” was going to be picked up to series, what was your first thought? Were you excited about seeing more of Barry Allen, or thinking more of what it could mean for “Arrow”?

For us, we have to admit to being more fascinated with the latter at the moment, largely because of one simple fact: We haven’t seen anything on “The Flash” yet. We haven’t even seen Barry Allen with powers. It is hard to get excited for something that is still in many ways unknown.

If there are changes that will come to “Arrow” thanks to “The Flash,” we anticipate them being something that maybe takes place in two or three episodes of the story. Personally, we’ll be sad if they are involved more than that. We want to keep the stories largely separate, especially since Oliver Queen already has his own little team, and seeing Diggle and Felicity marginalized by someone with science skills and superpowers would be fairly sad.

With all this being said, we are willing to go ahead and pencil an episode or two a season that could feature the worlds crossing. It serves as a nice little reminder for each show that the other is still out there, and Central City isn’t that far away from Starling City. Plus, don’t forget about that chemistry between Barry and Felicity. It’s always nice to shake things up in that way…
