‘Chicago Fire’ season 2, episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Taylor Kinney and ‘Real Never Waits’

When it comes to nebulous episode titles, you do not have to look a whole lot further for a good example than “Real Never Waits,” which is the name for the end of “Chicago Fire” airing on NBC a week from tonight.

This episode should serve as a sort of emotional revolution for the time being, as we see Dawson prepare to take a major test, Casey try to help her using some controversial methods, and also Severide really struggling withwhat happened at the scene of a fire. Taylor Kinney should have some of his best material to date thanks to this story. It’s possible that there could be a cliffhanger at the end of all this (it is a Dick Wolf show), but only time and the episode will tell.

For now, we suggest that you get some good scoop courtesy of the episode’s official synopsis:

A fire at a boarding school leaves Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) shaken and wondering if he could have done more. Meanwhile, with the firehouse in full support of Dawson (Monica Raymund) as she retakes the fireman’s exam, Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer) attempts some political maneuverings on her behalf. Elsewhere, Mills (Charlie Barnett) looks for answers about his father’s mysterious past and Chief Boden’s (Eamonn Walker) grand plans take a detour.”

For those looking for a promo, we’ll have one up as soon as it is available. The biggest thing to take note of here, though, is that in following the true “Chicago Fire” tradition, the show will be reminding you with this episode that it really is about the characters than any of the fires that they happen to put out.
