‘The Originals’ episode 21 spoilers: Joseph Morgan teases Klaus’ response to Hayley, Elijah
There are many shippers out there across the internet to Hayley and Elijah, but it’s fair to say that Klaus on “The Originals” is not one of them. He may not be the perfect person for Phoebe Tonkin’s character, but that doesn’t mean in the slightest that he wants to see her suddenly be with his brother … especially with her carrying his kid.
Joseph Morgan is currently doing a variety of interviews to promote the final two episodes, and this is something that he touched on in a TVLine chat. Specifically, he discussed what the aftermath to the two parties kissing is going to be:
“I don’t think it’s going to go down too well. Klaus is very possessive over his siblings, and he wants to be the center of attention. That comes from his childhood, from being the outcast of his family. He tries to force his siblings’ affection and love, and someone else being the subject of that won’t sit well with him. Also, the fact that it’s Hayley and she’s carrying his child will be really difficult for him to get his head around. The truth is, they’d probably be better without Klaus. In a time of peace, when they could make a go of it as a family, Elijah would make a good father.”
Morgan said that he “hopes” that we get a chance to see his and Hayley’s child before the end of the year, mostly because he brings a little bit more humanity to the equation than what is typically there with the hybrid. Of course, Morgan does actually know what is going to happen, but he is merely being coy for the time being in an effort to create a greater sense of mystery.
