‘The Bachelorette’: Andi Dorfman, contestants were told about Eric Hill’s death

Andi Dorfman -There is no question now that the death of Eric Hill has changed the upcoming season of “The Bachlelorette” in a pretty significant way. He at least lasted long enough this season to make an impression on Andi Dorfman and the other contestants on the show, and ABC is left in a difficult position now when it comes to how to handle his character the rest of the way. He passed after he was eliminated from the competition, but you don’t want to do anything to dishonor his memory.

One of the big questions about Hill’s passing in relation to the show is what happened with the other contestants and with Andi, and we have an answer for you now: They were told about everything. Chris Harrison spoke recently to ABC News, and explained that any other decision would have been downright unethical:

“We never would have kept it from them … He was a good friend of theirs. Absolutely, they know.

“We’re not sure 100 percent of how we’re going to deal with it. We’re doing our best and we made the best decisions we could at the time. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out … We did the best we could trying to be as honorable and decent to the family and to him. It was really something we’d never dealt with before but we did it as delicately and respectfully as we could.”

We feel like the show is going to be as kind to Hill’s family as possible during the process, especially since there is absolutely nothing to gain from being cruel or editing him badly at this point.

Andi’s season premieres two weeks from Monday, and you will probably have more footage and news out there about it soon. For now, just click here for some more “Bachelorette” news, or here to sign up now for more updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
