‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15 finale spoilers: Official details on ‘Spring Awakening’

Law & Order: SVU logoThere’s no question that “Law & Order: SVU” season 15 has been an intense one for Olivia Benson, and not in a good way. She has been tortured, she has been forced to make painful public confessions, and in the end, she had to watch William Lewis take his own life in front of her, right after she thought that she was going to die herself.

With all this in mind, it’s interesting that the official synopsis for the finale “Spring Awakening” (airing May 21) emphasizes what is going on with Amaro before it does anything with Benson. Still, her story is mentioned as being important. Not only that, but you are going to get the previously-reported return appearance from none other than John Munch! Check out below:

Amaro’s (Danny Pino) recklessness once again makes him the target of Internal Affairs, and he has no choice but to face the consequences. With his professional and personal life at risk, he looks to his friend John Munch (Belzer) for advice. Meanwhile, an online ad for escorts leads to the rape and robbery of several male tourists, and one of the suspects has a surprising connection to Sergeant Benson (Mariska Hargitay) that may change her life forever.”

We would be surprised if this finale goes too deep into cliffhanger territory, mostly because there are still so many questions surrounding the future of the show. There is no renewal yet, and for something that has been around for 15 years, it feels like a very cruel thing to suddenly end the show with a story that feels incomplete. (Let’s just hope for a better ending than what “Law & Order” proper received.)
