‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10: Sandra Oh, Isaiah Washington reflect, talk Cristina’s end
Tonight’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 has the potential to be one of the most-important of the entire series, and also a gift to those out there who have been watching the show since almost the very beginning. It is not very often when you are given the opportunity to have a year’s notice before sending off a character like Cristina Yang, and that allowed creator Shonda Rhimes to plan something perfect … including getting a man back in Isaiah Washington who has not appeared as Dr. Preston Burke in nearly seven years.
At this very moment, the only people who truly know how the Cristina saga is going to end are those in the house that Rhimes build, but to be honest, not even all of them have the utmost idea as to what is going to happen. What we can at least say is that Sandra Oh wants it to be a happy occasion rather than something particularly tragic or devastating. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, she says as such:
“I want it to be celebratory and that we all get to a place where we’re happy to see her go. Every so often a crewmember will look at me in a certain way or hug me in a certain way and I know what it’s about. We don’t say anything but I know what it is. It will be hard to say goodbye.”
Given that Washington is returning to the episode tonight, it only makes sense to also get his take on the subject. While he has been extremely coy on what is coming up save for saying that it will “blow people away,” he did offer up the following kind words about working with Sandra to the publication:
“All of my time working with Sandra Oh on Grey’s Anatomy is my favorite memory about working with Sandra Oh.”
