‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Will Elena and Damon work things out by finale?

For those of you looking for some new Elena / Damon – “Vampire Diaries” scoop! We are pleased to report that you are definitely in the right place! Specifically, we’re talking here about the upcoming season 5 finale, and a longtime question that is really begging for an answer at this point: Are these two characters finally going to realize that they have feelings that need to be dealt with. These two have tangoed for so many episodes now (metaphorically, anyway) that they would get a 10 from the “Dancing with the Stars” judging panel.

Here is the scoop that you have been likely longing to see, and it comes courtesy of executive producer Caroline Dries and an interview with TV Guide:

“Nothing about Elena and Damon will ever be firm, only because their relationship is so fiery and complicated … But their feelings will be expressed by the end of the season.”

You have to be happy about some big moments for the two when it comes to this. Even if you don’t like the pairing (we understand that there are those of you out there), you can at least take solace in the fact that the dance could be over. The show is not going to spend a whole lot of time now letting it dangle as to whether or not the characters are expressed, not expressed, or if they will continue to drive us crazy all of next season.

Maybe at the start of season 6, you’ll get a reprieve … but don’t things typically descend back into this at some point?
