‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’: Would Shirley MacLaine ever sign on?

Today is going to be a great day for longtime fans of Shirley MacLaine. After all, the legendary actress will be appearing on “Glee” in what is her first major TV gig since her days recently appearing on “Downton Abbey.”

So, why not take a minute now and also look towards what could be her future on TV? A number of legendary actors from Kathy Bates to Angela Bassett are currently appearing on Ryan Murphy’s other show in “American Horror Story,” and we don’t really feel like it is all that much of a stretch for there to be a question regarding whether or not Shirley would ever do that. Her response? Speaking to E! News, she made it pretty clear that while she enjoys this gig, taking on something like this horror show would be something that she’d have to think about for a while:

“I haven’t seen it, but I don’t want to go back to the mood in New Orleans, so I’m not sure about that. He’s very talented though, he really has some stuff.”

Well, maybe she would reconsider given that the new season “Freak Show” is set in Jupiter, Florida, even if it is filming in the Big Easy in the months ahead. Luckily, that show is going to have a phenomenal cast either way, with the big reveal coming out of PaleyFest being that Michael Chiklis is returning to his old “The Shield” stomping grounds in FX for a role that will pair him with Bates.
