‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: First look at Michael Weatherly in ‘The Admiral’s Daughter’

NCIS -Have you missed Tony episodes on “NCIS“? It’s been a while since we’ve had a big character story for him, and the May 6 episode “The Admiral’s Daughter” will be just that. It’s all about him having to escort (natch) the daughter of an Admiral from France back to America … and by “France,” we of course mean somewhere in Los Angeles designed to look like the country.

That will this story really mean for Tony? Largely, we see it as a chance for him to really assert himself as an agent again, and sort of continue this journey of self-discovery that he has been one for most of the season. Michael Weatherly himself has given some good performances in here, and this is a chance for yet another one. This goes along with what has been planned for “Shooter” on Tuesday, and some other episodes that are being planned for season 12. The show wants to get back to doing some character stories, and allow these people to shine by flexing muscles that they don’t always get to flex.

During “Shooter,” that focus will be more on Pauley Perrette, and “The Admiral’s Daughter” should allow for Tony to show off more of her caring side. While we cannot tease too much what the future of this story holds, we will at least say that this was originally planned for the finale prior to the death of Ralph Waite. Now, that episode has been designed as a tribute to him and the Jackson Gibbs character.
