MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 4 spoilers: Another new face enters the universe

So far, “Awkward” season 4 has done a decent job circumventing many of our concerns about the departure of creator Lauren Iungerich, and left us with a series that is by and large still funny. Do we miss Ming as a character? Sure, but when it comes to men, Collin is not someone we are particularly bummed to not have hanging around anymore.

So to perhaps add to the male population of the show, there is a new addition coming up in Owen. According to a report from TVLine, this guy a good-looking guy, but also has his own share of awkward (ahem) tendencies of his own. He’s aloof, and has no problem living in his own little world. There are certainly similarities there between him and Jenna, which in turn makes you wonder if that could be a potential love connection.

Personally, we’re willing to file that under “possibly,” but there would be some hurdles standing in their way.For one, Jenna seemsto be firmly still in the camp of really liking Matty, and there’s little evidence of that changing. (Just look at what happened on this past episode.) Also, it’s sometimes not the best idea in the world to be with someone romantically who you have a lot in common with. If your craziness molds with each other, then you are left with people who are eventually so compatible that they don’t quite have anything to talk about.

Nonetheless, we’re down for some new Jenna romance later this season, especially if this someone is good guy and is not going to take her down familiar territory.
