‘Dancing with the Stars’ 18: Drew Carey regrets not taking ‘Price Is Right’ hiatus for show
Drew Carey had a fun go at things on “Dancing with the Stars” this season. While it was clear that he was not the best dancer, he still tried to make his performance entertaining and also full of content.
Unfortunately, this is where things started to get pretty wrong for Drew on the show this season. He was already one of the oldest contestants and had zero experience in anything athletic like this, and then had to top that off with having to work harder than anyone else to even get on the dance floor. He had his job hosting “The Price Is Right,” and had to balance that with rehearsals for the show.
Speaking after the show ended to TODAY.com, Drew admits that he has one big regret when it comes to doing the show, and it comes via his schedule:
“It killed me. If I were to do it all over again, I would have asked for a hiatus from ‘Price Is Right.’ I would have done a lot better in all my dances. It takes full concentration.”
Drew’s partner Cheryl Burke claimed that they both knew last week that they were going to be dead in the water soon. They had the lowest scores, and the point differential was too big. Unlike past seasons where you have just two or three people near the top and then everyone else fighting for survival, almost everyone was insanely good and able to put in the hours. Meryl Davis is surely going to be the favorite right now in terms of scores, but as we said while covering the show last night, it’s hard to rule out the potential of someone like Amy Purdy to come in and steal it as a sentimental favorite. Not only is she not a dancer, but she has had to prepare for the show without feet.
