‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: What Booth faces in finale
The “Bones” season 9 finale is a pretty mysterious one at the moment, more so even than usual. What is the primary reason for that? For the longest time thanks to past patterns for the show, it was easy for us to assume that it was probably going to resolve the Ghost Killer story in some way.
However, the episode last night seemed to resolve the story … with the emphasis on “seemed.” Given that we were expecting something far more extensive and epic out of this plot, we’re hoping that it will continue on in some unexpected way. The finale for this season airing on May 12 is entitled “The Recluse in the Recliner,” and the synopsis below doesn’t give you enough to let you know if this story is related to anything that we have seen so far:
“In the Season Nine finale, directed by series star David Boreanaz, the team investigates the death of a man who had offered Booth (Boreanaz) information on a possible government cover-up related to a previous case, but was killed before their meeting took place. As Booth and the Jeffersonian team dig deeper into the burgeoning conspiracy surrounding the man’s death, it’s evident Booth may be in over his head, and his future with the FBI is put in question.”
The two things that we will say for now is that we do find the title for this episode somewhat amusing, and we’re surprised that there will be two weeks between this episode and the one that is airing before it. Fox has decided to use May 5 strictly as a way to launch their upcoming “24” summer series “Love Another Day,” which may or may not be a good decision given that it has “The Voice” and “Dancing with the Stars” as competition.
What do you think is the secret in the sauce (which sounds like a good title in itself for this show) for the “Bones” finale? Let us know below, and click here for a preview of next week’s episode.
