‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 2 spoilers: Meet the new sheriff

While you may be waiting for quite a while longer to see “Sleepy Hollow” back on the air, there’s no sense of being sad about it at all. Why? It’s because we’ve just got the latest scoop all about who could be the new sheriff running around in town.

According to E! News, the woman that we are going to see in the small New York town next season is described as being “smart,” “forceful,” and “commanding,” but also has a softer side that can come out from time to time. Her name is Sheriff Vasquez, and will be coming to Sleepy Hollow from Texas, where worked for a while with the U.S. Border Patrol. However, she originally hails from the area, so she will be rather familiar with some of the hangouts that Ichabod Crane and Abbie visit.

The big question for us with this character is really quite simple: Is she going to be a friend or a foe in trying to take on the supernatural community? More than anything else, we just hope that she is not someone with some deep connections to Moloch or any other demon already. Not everyone we have to meet on this show needs to be someone previously affiliated with bizarre characters or tools of the devil. It’s much more interesting to see normal people like Captain Irving (who is currently in prison) try to handle the sudden arrival of things that are beyond their realm of understanding.

“Sleepy Hollow” season 2 is shooting earlier than most other network shows this spring, which, coupled with the recent tentative plans to air season 2 in succession, suggest to us that the show may premiere a little earlier than the start of the traditional season this fall. We’ll just have to report more on that as news comes out.
