‘Dancing with the Stars’ 18: Cody Simpson reflects on show experience

HereOn Monday night’s new “Dancing with the Stars” episode, you are going to see the action play out in the ballroom for the first time without Cody Simpson as a part of it. The singer was eliminated on this past episode of the show, with the primary reason for it being just not getting that perfect combination of viewer votes and support from the judges.

So how is he feeling now after the fact? Better than you may initially imagine. Speaking to MTV News on the subject, Cody explained that hew as happy to do the show, but also happy now to be able to get back to doing some of what he loves in the music world:

“I was surprised, I definitely have mixed feelings about it, there’s a certain disappointment that comes with being voted off … I was getting antsy, wanting to get back to work, wanting to get back to what I do, and it was the perfect amount of time to be on the show.”

Cody also said that the show has expanded his audience greatly, and he’s now had “old ladies” who have come up to him and said that he received votes from this. This audience may actually be one of the reasons why he was sent home, at least in that it typically skews old, and many of these viewers may not have had any idea as to who Cody Simpson even is.

In the end, he claims that he will continue to watch this season, and plans to cheer on Charlie White and Amy Purdy, who he bonded with as a result of being on the show with them all season.

Of course, we’ll have our take on the latest “Dancing with the Stars” result tomorrow, so be on the lookout for that! You can also sign up to get further updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
