NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2: Show exec teases finale, possible season 3 plot

“Revolution” has not been renewed for a third season, and at this point, it’s not looking so good that it will be. Even with this being said, though, we have to admire the commitment that the executives are making to seeing the story through and thinking towards the future.

At WonderCon in Anaheim earlier this weekend, a panel of familiar faces related to the show descended on the stage. This group includes the likes of executive producer Rockne S. O’Bannon and stars Elizabeth Mitchell (Rachel) and Stephen Collins (Gene), and they gave a little bit of scoop about what could be coming up. For example, O’Bannon gave (per Zap2It) the following tease about how the story this year could end, and what direction things could go in for a potential season 3:

“[The ending’s] really hot. It’s really good stuff … Everything comes together in these final four episodes in terms of the patriot mission coming to a head at the same time that the nano takes a hard look at humanity as its creator and it’s lacking. Plus, something is whispered into Rachel’s ear that changes everything about what was behind the blackout.”

All of this certainly sounds exciting enough, and it really works to address what was once our principal complaint about the show being a little too disjointed.

It was also teased at the event that those of you who loved more of evil Neville will be happy that he is heading more in that direction now following the death of Jason. This is what Giancarlo Esposito was cast to do, and it is certainly what he exceptionally known for courtesy of Gus Fring.
