TV Quick Hits: ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ news, Chelsea Handler gossip, ‘Orange is the New Black’ trailer

About “Bachelor in Paradise” – With the announcement this spring of “Bachelor in Paradise,” ABC made it pretty clear that they wanted some sort of extension of the franchise. They just didn’t want “Bachelor Pad,” the show’s sleazy cousin that included a number of things forever scarred into our memory.

Now, there is more evidence of this than ever. According to E! News, this entire shift in philosophy from one show to the next is that ABC didn’t want to associate itself with “Bachelor Pad” anymore. Specifically, the website’s Kristin Dos Santos mentions a room that was notorious for being the room where everyone did the nasty.

As for some other, less-disgusting news…

Chelsea Handler dismisses CBS talk – Appearing on “Ellen” this week, Chelsea disputes the rumors that she will be going to CBS or any network, for that matter. She did confirm that she wants out of “Chelsea Lately,” as well, and that she has no desire to go to Comedy Central and take the place of someone who was already hosting a show there.

“Girl Meets World” gets a familiar director – Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Disney Channel show will see series star Ben Savage take on an episode. He joked to the website that he has been preparing for this role for “the past 20 years.” Production on his episode starts later this month, and the show premieres in the summer.

“Orange Is the New Black” Trailer – Finally, we close with the first look at “Orange Is the New Black” season 2, which is going to premiere on Netflix come June 6 … of course, all at once for those of you who need an excuse to be off work for the day.

Expect excitement, drama, fights, and of course plenty of crazy fun behind bars.
