‘Agents of SHIELD’ episode 18 preview: The move after the Ward – HYDRA surprise

Did you see the “Agents of SHIELD” twist during tonight’s episode coming? Those who watched “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” knew already all about HYDRA, and could probably piece together that what lies ahead for the SHIELD organization was not going to be pretty.

But did you think that Ward was really going to be a responsible party in fracturing everything? It was a devastating move, but one this show desperately needed after spending the first half of the season twiddling its thumbs, almost afraid to make some big moves. We’re now to wear the story is exciting, and we’re actually invested in seeing it fight and get a chance for another season.

Now, let’s share at least a few more details about the next new episode. Tuesday’s upcoming episode is entitled “Providence,” and the promo below definitely has the awesome meter tipping the scales. In addition to that, you can also take a look at a pretty generic synopsis (it was released before the “Captain America” movie or tonight’s episode, hence the lack of details) below:

“With Colonel Glenn Talbot now on their trail, Coulson and his team seek refuge in the last place anyone would look, where they begin to uncover S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most dangerous secrets–secrets that could destroy them all.”

With there still being a solid batch of episodes left, there’s plenty of room for anything to happen, and just as we’ve said in the past, we’re very pleased with the fact that there is little reason to worry about another movie becoming involved in what happens at least this year. The finale could dictate the future of SHIELD not just for a potential second season, but also the movies.
