‘Call the Midwife’ season 3, episode 3 preview (PBS): A prison storyline tease

Of course, we shall begin this “Call the Midwife” article with a warning, for those who have not watched the full episode tonight on PBS yet: There are some spoilers ahead! Do not read on if you want to remain surprised.

When it comes to significant events that unfolded on the story Sunday, the biggest one was Jenny Lee getting a new status at Nonnatus House … regardless of how much it really impacted anything that she will be doing in terms of her day-to-day life. There are some major stories coming up ahead for the characters working as midwives when it comes to their personal lives, but you may have to wait a few more weeks for some of them to really become major events.

Instead, next week’s storyline is primary going to feature another patient-of-the-week plot similar to what you saw on tonight’s new episode. What was the most significant different between the two? On this episode tonight, you had a chance to witness a pregnancy story involving a married woman with a child not belonging to her husband. Next week, the story will take the midwives to prison in order to figure out the best situation for a child born under some terrible circumstances there. The good news is that there will be more to this story than meets the eye, and it is not entirely straightforward. If you enjoy the show’s more procedural elements, you will not be disappointed in that.

The show will continue to pick up steam as it goes along, and for now, the best thing that you can do while watching is take note of all the small moments, whether it comes from a character like Alec or from Trixie. All of their stories will be more significant as the night progresses.
