‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: A new photo; another Michael Weatherly gig
“NCIS” has another new episode airing on Tuesday night in “Page Not Found,” but we won’t be spending too much time on that in this article. Instead, we’re here to discuss both the episode following that, and a separate gig entirely for Michael Weatherly.
The image attached here is the first from “Alleged,” the 21st episode of the season that promises to be a big one. As the press release we shared recently states, one of the big storylines that we are getting set to watch play out is all about an emotional issue of sexual assault within the military. For whatever reason, this serious story will be juxtaposed against something silly, as Tony and McGee are going to undergo a juice cleanse in order to get themselves in tip-top shape.
As for some other news related to Michael Weatherly, the man behind Agent DiNozzo is going to be appearing in the new episode of The CW’s “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” airing on Friday night. We’ve went ahead and enclosed the promo for the episode below, but it sadly doesn’t give you any idea what he is up to.
What we’ll do not is just explain what the show traditionally does for its guests: They will typically appear in two separate skits, with one of them being more as a prop, and the other one being a chance to show up more of his actual improv chops. We know that Michael has some comedy skills (anyone remember those goofy promos with his chasing the CBS Eye from early this season?), and this is a great chance to play with those alongside some people who are the best in the business in Wayne Brady, Colin Mochrie, and the rest of the cast.

NCIS has dropped the ball with Michael Weatherly. The juice cleanse will without a doubt be used to make Tony look ridiculous. Tim – probably not so much. Tim has several feature episodes coming up, while the spoiled Tony finale was yanked out and discarded. The writers never give Tony writing that actually flatters the character or gives the very talented Weatherly a chance to use the full extent of his acting ability. It’s quite obvious that tptb just don’t want to let Tony outshine their more favored cast members.

There is a fine line between fun and silliness!
Michael Weatherly is a fantastic actor for comedy and drama but using him and the talented Sean Murray for these ridiculous and embarrassing story lines seems to be an attempt of getting rid of great actors!
Maybe the NCIS producers want to entertain those who prefer cheap entertainment with cheap jokes and replace great actors with cheap ones because this could be the consequence of such cheap writing!

Michael loves doing comedy on NCIS and never sees himself just as the joke-butt of the show. He ad libs a lot of what he does. If he was unhappy at his characters portrayal he would of left seasons ago. A lot of people have cleansing drinks daily and it’s quite a natural thing to do, so i don’t know why people find it embarrassing. Its just a fun side line as usual. He hasn’t been ignored at all. He’s been there up front many times. The topic of sexual assault is a good one to bring to mind and I look forward to seeing this episode. I truly can’t understand why some fans over analyze and critizise every aspect of every episode.

As a Tony fan I complain because I’m tired of his feature moment of the episode, 9 times out of 10, being a humiliating scenario or one that makes him look weak or stupid – i.e. – the bubble bath, the casserole dilemma, “playing with myself”, the voodoo doll, and now apparently – bathroom humor as Tony deals with the cleanse. I figure if Tony fans publicly complain maybe tptb will care and stop using him exclusively for the “comedy” of self humiliation. Perhaps if Gibbs were written in such a consistently humiliating manner without being allowed to show much else his fans would be complaining too, but as we know, THIS will certainly never happen.

Does it ever occur to fans that from season 1 Tony has always been written in some way like this? His character is meant to be the butt of jokes along with his seriousness and agent talents. Michael loves comedy, and no the PTB will not change it as it would change the Tony character dynamics too much. I loved the casserole, the voodoo doll, the John Travolta outfit, the bubble bath. It’s who Tony Dinozzo is. There is a lot more to him than that, but none of the fans seem to want to see it. Gibbs’ character is written serious most of the time because that’s who Gibbs is and what his character is all about. If fans would stop analysing the characters to be a personal character of their own then they would enjoy the show much more. Its television.

While Tony has always been featured in humorous moments and situations, in the early seasons the joke wasn’t ALWAYS on him. Now they laugh AT him rather than WITH him. Tony was portrayed as nearly as skilled as Gibbs and we had ample opportunities to see Tony in the role of brave, street smart, tough, and depended on and even admired by GIbbs. Now Tony mostly brings up the rear after Gibbs handles the danger. Tony’s only moments show him to be flakey, cowardly, and not too bright. Huge change from early seasons Tony.

Then those of you who are unhappy, write to the writers of the show and express your feelings.

When I saw that press release talking about the juice cleanse, I truly thought it must be a joke. I had just read a TVLine article about Kelli Williams guest appearance in Alleged and describing how NCIS was going to address the very serious and relevant topic of sexual assault in the Navy. I can see the juice cleanse as a silly topic in the opening squad room sequence before the case begins but those things are not usually part of the tag line and cheat tweet in the press release. It sounds like the subject of a Brooklyn Nine-Nine episode (a very funny sitcom, by the way) not a drama tackling such an important topic as sexual assault.
Of course, a press release like that conjures all sorts of images. DiNozzo squirming in his chair desperately needing the restroom while interviewing the assault victim. McGee embarrassed because he unintentionally farts in front of the agent played by Kelli Williams. Both boys on a desperate search for a port-a-potty at the outdoor murder scene.
I actually found the TVGuide April Fool’s episode description of Ziva asking “Who’s sitting on my desk?” followed by a throw down between her and Bishop more believable than this juice cleanse in the middle of one of the most serious episodes of the season. I’m not able to watch season 11 yet but it will be very interesting to see how they pull this off and how it is received. Wow!

Well – you are not wrong about these two subjects done together being totally inappropriate JaKe421 – but what isn’t any more on this NCIS Season? – just the fact that Gibbs has been sidelined by a bossy blond has me totally baffled and not likely to tune in to see this anyway. This season will soon be over right ? We can only hope .

Who does not like Michael Weatherly? That handsome guy – he can do it all – comedy, sing, write songs, act and he still has his inner child with him and a wonderful knack for not taking himself too seriously. NCIS is so lucky to have him – too bad they have chosen to ignore him for most of this Season. They really need to fix that – fast – before they lose him like they did Cote.

Michael Weatherly is a truly gifted actor. He is so good looking that I think it eclipses his talent. I’m so excited to see him on this program. It takes serious acting chops to do Whose Line. Would LOVE to see him get the credit he deserves.
Oh, and that colon cleanse plot on NCIS is an embarrassment. Shame on the producers for taking his character to this level. For the whole season, he has had nothing to do except lame B plots. Waste of a huge talent.
