‘Law & Order: SVU’ season 15, episode 20 preview: Mariska Hargitay’s Bension and nightmares

Tonight on “Law & Order: SVU,” the episode closed with a very nice moment for Olivia Benson, where she saw that happy things can come out of what are very difficult, life-altering times. Unfortunately for her, she’s really going to have to lean on that even more, as even more life-altering times are on the way during next week’s episode “Beast’s Obsession.”

There are a few themes that are going to be front and center for much of this story, whether you are talking about something like the return of Pablo Schreiber as William Lewis or a mission that requires Benson to try to save a child. Sacrifice is the other theme, since he has to make a decision that just about any cop would dread. Just take a look at the official synopsis below:

“The sadistic William Lewis (Schreiber) escapes from prison, arbitrarily killing as he goes. Concerned for Benson’s safety, a security detail is assigned to her 24/7, but it doesn’t take long for Lewis to get her back where he left off. With time running out, Benson must decide how much she’s willing to sacrifice in order to save the life of a child.”

The promo below for this episode (which we will have for you here shortly) is going to revolve mostly around the showdown between Olivia and this monster, and it is going to take almost everything she has to take him down. While we don’t know how much more mileage the producers could really get out of this story beyond this upcoming episode, hopefully this could be an exciting (potential) conclusion to the tale.
