ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 3, episode 17 review: Who is TWM; Victoria, Pascal’s move
“Revenge” does have quite a habit of introducing characters all over the place, and they certainly did that during Sunday night’s new episode. There were sloppy kisses, casino parties, and suspicion that Jack’s personal life is completely falling apart.
Luckily, Aiden Mathis may be around to try and clean up some of the messes a little bit. His arrival at the end of the episode was a great tease to next week, as it turns out that Aiden’s dad, Trevor Warren Mathis (a.k.a. TWM), is at the center of everything. That was the only thing we saw from him this week, as Emily is trying to use her single status to manipulate others.
Emily’s plan for most of the hour was to try and get closer to Pascal in order to figure out, as we learned last week, what in the world was going on with the guy and his past connections to the Graysons. All she really found out instead is that his allegiance to the family is still incredibly strong … or at least Victoria. He tried to use Emily for information, but little did he realize in the process that she was well aware of the bug that had been planted.
In other news, Charlotte got a new love interest in Javier, who is sharing a place with Nolan at the moment despite his wishes. Also, Jack and Margaux are starting to be in jeopardy thanks to her new partnership with Daniel, and at least for a minute, Jack’s mom Stevie Grayson strongly considered hitting the bottle again.
In the end, this was an interesting episode of “Revenge” that got us slightly closer to the truth, but at the same time, really didn’t answer almost any pressing question that we had. Thanks to this, the waiting game is just going to continue a while longer. Grade: B-.

I enjoy this series, but this episode was a disappointment to me. The interesting stuff: Stevie and Conrad’s conversation in the suite, Javier, and the stuff regarding Trevor Mathis; some improvements were Charlotte (asking Daniel not to hurt Jack) and Aiden (the TWM note).
All of that stuff was really only about 5-8 minutes of the hour (counting the commercials). Everything else was either slow (the casino), annoying (Margaux firing her father like a spoiled brat), or predictable (Pascal working with Victoria). Were the young Conrad flashbacks shelved or postponed? I was really looking forward to seeing him as a young man.
On the bright side, whenever an episode has disappointed me, the following new episode is better. Here’s to next week.
