‘Glee’ season 5: See Darren Criss’ ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ debut (video)

Blaine -Darren Criss may be a busy guy thanks to his work on “Glee” season 5, but at some point, he managed to find the time to come over to the set of “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” in order to film a guest spot.

In case you haven’t watched the show since its move to The CW, one of the changes that they have made is that they now bring in celebrities often for a sketch or two as either a prop, a guest performer, or a subject of a song. (They also did this in later seasons of the Drew Carey version.) In the video below, you can see Darren basically acting as an out-of-control robot, and we give the guy some credit for being so willing to make himself silly.

There are two little bits of trivia in here also worth pointing out:

1. This episode is the first one in the history of the American show to not feature Ryan Stiles. Pianist Laura Hall confirmed before shooting on Twitter that he fell ill, and Greg Proops came in at the last minute to replace him.

2. Criss is the not the first performer from “Glee” to come over to this show for a spot, as Kevin McHale took on a similar role on the show’s first season on The CW. Who we would love to see on the show next is Jane Lynch, given that her history with the Second City in Chicago would seemingly make her the prime candidate to be a part of this. Plus, this show is always in need of finding some funny ladies to take part.

This week is turning out to be a big one for Darren. Not only is this appearance happening, but his “Glee” character of Blaine Anderson will be living in New York for the first time.
