‘Agents of SHIELD’ spoilers: Amy Acker comes over from ‘Person of Interest’ for an episode

Even though Amy Acker may be a very busy woman right now courtesy of her part as Root on “Person of Interest,” she still has time in her schedule to reunite with Joss and Jed Whedon for a guest gig that could end up being very important to the “Agents of SHIELD” universe.

According to TV Guide, the former “Dollhouse” and “Angel” star has signed on to appear in one episode of the ABC drama in the part of Audrey, who just so happens to be the cellist that Agent Coulson was dating at the time that he first supposedly died. Given Acker’s history with the Whedons, it is not surprising to see her called on for the part, but presuming that she remains on “Person of Interest” for a while moving forward, we don’t quite know how many opportunities this really yields for her to appear and do other things.

Still, maybe this will be another reason for some more Whedon fans to come back and watch a show that has slowly started to find more of a voice as times goes on, and is trying to do much more than what it did very early on in the show’s run. It is becoming more immersive in the Marvel universe, and the more that it is willing to take chances, in the end the more successful it will likely be.

In addition to all of the shows mentioned above, Acker has also appeared on “Alias” and “Once Upon a Time.” We’re still hoping that she will at some point return to the latter as Grumpy / Leroy’s love interest.
